Reduce Airborne Irritants With a REME HALO Air Purifier in Greenacres, FL

Dust, odors, pet dander, pollen, and other airborne particles can circulate whenever your heating and cooling system runs. Standard HVAC filters capture some particles, but they may not address every indoor air concern throughout a home or business.

Big Air Mechanical, LLC installs REME HALO air purifiers, UV air purifiers, and other indoor air quality products in Greenacres, FL. We also provide AC coil cleaning to remove dirt and buildup that may restrict airflow and affect system performance.

A whole-house air purifier works with the HVAC system rather than treating only one room. Our technicians can assess your current setup, discuss your concerns, and explain which products are compatible with the equipment. We serve homes and businesses throughout Palm Beach County.

Whole-House Air Purification

A portable indoor air purifier treats air within a limited area. A whole-house air purifier is installed in or near the HVAC duct system, allowing it to treat air as it circulates through the property.

Whole-house products may be useful for customers concerned about:

  • Airborne Dust: Fine particles can circulate through rooms and settle on furniture and other surfaces.
  • Pet Dander: Small particles from household pets may remain suspended in indoor air.
  • Pollen: Outdoor pollen can enter through doors, windows, clothing, and ventilation.
  • Persistent Odors: Cooking, pets, smoke, moisture, and other sources may create lingering odors.
  • Mold Concerns: Moisture inside an HVAC system or building can contribute to conditions that support mold growth.
  • Airborne Irritants: Certain particles and contaminants may bother people with sensitivities.

Air purification cannot replace source control, ventilation, filter changes, moisture management, or routine HVAC care. Big Air Mechanical can explain how a selected product fits into a broader indoor air quality plan.

How a REME HALO Air Purifier Works

A REME HALO air purifier is installed inside the HVAC ductwork. As air moves through the system, the device uses ionized hydroperoxide output and UV-based technology to address certain airborne and surface contaminants.

Unlike a standard filter that waits for particles to pass through it, the REME HALO is designed to send ionized oxidizers into the conditioned space. These oxidizers interact with airborne particles, which can make some particles easier for the HVAC filter to capture. The technology is also designed to reduce certain bacteria, viruses, mold, and odors.

Actual performance depends on several factors, including:

  • The size and layout of the property
  • HVAC system design and airflow
  • Device placement
  • Filter type and condition
  • Indoor pollutant sources
  • Moisture levels
  • Product maintenance
  • How frequently the HVAC fan operates

No air purifier removes every contaminant or prevents illness. Product performance claims should be reviewed according to the manufacturer’s current specifications. Our team can explain the system’s intended function, placement, and maintenance requirements before installation.

REME HALO and UV Air Purifiers

REME HALO systems and standard UV light air purifiers both use ultraviolet technology, but they may operate differently.

A UV air purifier is commonly installed near the HVAC evaporator coil or inside the duct system. Its light is directed at a specific area where moisture may collect. The UV light is designed to limit microbial growth on exposed HVAC surfaces when properly sized, installed, and maintained.

A REME HALO system combines UV-based operation with ionized oxidizers that move with the conditioned air. This design is intended to address certain airborne particles and contaminants beyond the immediate installation point.

The right option depends on the property, equipment, airflow, and primary air quality concern. Our technicians can inspect the HVAC system and explain whether a UV light air purifier, REME HALO unit, improved filtration, or another option is appropriate.

Indoor Air Purifiers for Homes and Businesses

Homes and commercial properties can face different indoor air concerns. A residence may need help with pet dander, cooking odors, pollen, or dust. Offices, stores, and other businesses may have higher occupancy, longer operating hours, and air quality concerns tied to daily operations.

Big Air Mechanical installs indoor air purifiers for residential properties and commercial buildings. We consider the system type, duct configuration, available installation space, and expected airflow before recommending a product.

Air purification should not be used to hide an active moisture problem, mold source, refrigerant issue, or damaged HVAC component. If an inspection reveals an equipment problem, we can discuss the appropriate AC repair services.

The Importance of AC Coil Cleaning

The evaporator coil absorbs heat from indoor air as part of the cooling process. Because the coil becomes cold during operation, condensation forms on its surface and drains away through the system.

Dust and debris can collect on the coil when filters are dirty, missing, incorrectly fitted, or overdue for replacement. Moisture combined with accumulated debris may also create conditions that support microbial growth.

A dirty evaporator coil can contribute to:

  • Restricted Airflow: Buildup may limit how easily air passes across the coil.
  • Longer Cooling Cycles: The system may need more time to reach the thermostat setting.
  • Reduced Heat Transfer: A layer of dirt can interfere with the coil’s ability to absorb heat.
  • Higher Energy Use: Equipment may consume more energy when it must run longer.
  • Frozen Coils: Restricted airflow and other system problems may cause ice to form on the coil.
  • Water Issues: Melting ice or drainage issues can lead to moisture around the indoor unit.
  • Added Component Wear: Continued strain can affect other parts of the HVAC system.

Professional coil cleaning services remove accessible buildup using methods and products appropriate for the equipment. Coil cleaning may improve heat transfer and airflow when dirt is contributing to poor performance.

Our Coil Cleaning Process

An HVAC coil cleaner should be selected and applied carefully. Using the wrong chemical, excessive pressure, or improper tools may damage delicate coil fins or nearby components.

Our AC coil cleaning process may include:

  1. Inspecting the coil and surrounding components
  2. Checking for visible dirt, debris, ice, or moisture
  3. Protecting nearby electrical parts and property
  4. Applying an appropriate HVAC coil cleaner
  5. Removing loosened buildup
  6. Inspecting the drain pan and condensate line
  7. Checking airflow and basic system operation

The exact process depends on the equipment and the coil’s condition. If the technician finds a refrigerant issue, damaged component, or drainage failure, coil cleaning alone may not correct the problem. We will explain any additional findings before recommending further work.

Coil Cleaning and Duct Cleaning Serve Different Purposes

Coil cleaning addresses buildup on the evaporator or condenser coil. Air duct cleaning focuses on dust and debris inside the duct system. One service does not automatically replace the need for the other.

Consider regular duct cleaning when an inspection confirms significant debris inside the ducts, contamination has entered the system, or another condition makes cleaning appropriate. Routine filter replacement and keeping return vents clear can also help limit debris entering the HVAC equipment.

Big Air Mechanical can inspect the accessible system components and recommend service based on what is present rather than assuming every property needs the same treatment.

A Clean and Courteous Service Experience

Customers regularly praise Big Air Mechanical for prompt communication, courteous technicians, and clean work areas. Reviews mention Dustin and Johnathon for taking pride in their work and helping customers understand how newly installed systems operate.

Indoor Air Quality & REME HALO FAQs

A REME HALO is a whole-house air purification device installed inside HVAC ductwork. It uses UV-based and ionized hydroperoxide technology designed to reduce certain airborne particles, microorganisms, mold, and odors as air circulates through the system.

A UV air purifier exposes a targeted area inside the HVAC system to ultraviolet light. These systems are often positioned near the evaporator coil, where moisture can contribute to microbial growth. Performance depends on proper placement, light intensity, exposure time, and maintenance.

Dirt and moisture on an evaporator coil may create conditions that support microbial growth. Buildup can also restrict airflow and reduce heat transfer. Professional cleaning removes accumulated material and allows the technician to inspect the surrounding system for related problems.

An air purifier may reduce certain airborne particles that trigger symptoms for some people, but results vary. It is not a medical treatment and cannot remove every allergen or irritant. Customers with asthma, allergies, or other health concerns should seek guidance from a qualified healthcare provider.

John Z was great! Our AC was not working and he quickly and efficiently determined that a lizard got into our system and damaged the wiring, along with frying himself inside our air conditioner. He extracted said lizard, fixed the wiring and sealed the outside so it wouldn't happen again. Thanks BAM!
